Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile plant oils, including essential oils for physical and psychological well being.
As well as smelling divine, essential oils are also complex chemicals which penetrate the skin into the bloodstream, affecting the systems of the body on a physiological level. Meanwhile the aromas enter the body via the nose into the lungs and are transported to the brain where different oils may have calming effects, others will stimulate the nervous system.
In this way essential oils affect the mind and body simutaneously, providing a truly holistic healing experience.
What is Aromatherapy?
Have you ever had a "flashback" to a good or bad time because you got a whiff of a certain scent? That whiff could make you feel really happy, or relaxed, or even scared or sad. That change in you, is aromatherapy at work, to a degree. Certain scents are known to promote the same effect in everyone. That is how we can custom blend a specific combo of essential oils to aid in specific problems, both emotional and physical.
Many essential oils have known healing effects, such as being an anti-inflammatory, anti- viral, or a diuretic. The practice of aromatherapy has been around for thousands of years. Many of the herbs used in aromatherapy oils were brought to baby Jesus, and were worth more than gold!
